THE DELAWARE ARTISTS GUILD CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 1.       NAME

1.  This organization shall be known as the Delaware Artists Guild.

ARTICLE 2.       PURPOSE

1.  To encourage participation in the visual arts.
2. To provide mutual assistance in improving artistic skills and techniques.
3. To promote the visual arts in the Delaware Community.

ARTICLE 3.       MEMBERSHIP

1.  Membership shall be open to any person actively involved in the visual arts and who supports the purposes and objectives of this organizations.
2. Associate membership is open to those interested in the visual arts, but with the status of inactive member.

ARTICLE 4.       DUES

1.  Active members’ dues shall be $20.00.  Dues to be paid by September meeting.
2. Associate membership dues shall be $7.00 annually.
3. Patron memberships shall be $20.00 annually.

ARTICLE 5.       OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS

1.  Officers shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Chairman,  Membership Chairman, Program Chairman, and Exhibit Chairman.
2. The Board of Directors shall consist of the officers and the committee chairmen.

ARTICLE 6.       MEETINGS

1.  There shall be a meeting held on the fourth Monday of each month, excluding June, July, August, and December.
2. A Spring Show and (optional) Fall outing shall be arranged, to be scheduled at the meetings.
3. A quorum for the transaction of business shall consist of one third of the active members at each meeting.
4. The Board of Directors meetings shall be called by the President at such times and places as deemed necessary.
5. Annual meeting for the election of officers shall be in May.  The officers shall be elected for the term of one year, beginning in September.

ARTICLE 7.       AMENDMENTS

1.  This constitution may be amended by two-thirds vote of the active members.  Members’ votes may be secured by mail or email.
