Delaware Artists Guild Logo

The Delaware Artist’s Guild (DAG) is diverse group of over 50 artists and art enthusiasts. Founded in 1975, the DAG has continued a mission to provide information and encouragement to artists in the area. The DAG does this with monthly meetings which feature visiting artists, hosting educational workshops, travel opportunities to regional museums, and by sponsoring opportunities for members to exhibit their work.

We encourage visitors to check out our website, events, and exhibits. We also would like to extend the invitation for you to sit in on a meeting of your choice. You do not have to be a member to attend these functions. However, we are always looking for new members. The DAG welcomes beginners, professionals, business owners, or just fans of art to become apart of our guild. Please click on our membership page to learn more about the people that make up this amazing group, and what benefits you gain when you become a member. Thanks for visiting with us! Come back soon!

A Message From The President

Monday, May 22 at 7:30 in the Community Room of the library will be our final DAG meeting for the season. I know we will have our share of art this coming weekend during the annual Delaware Arts Festival in downtown (fingers crossed for nice weather!), but I think we’ll all really enjoy our speaker this month, Duane Barger. Duane is primarily a jeweler and plans to let us have some hands-on time doing some lapidary work (stone cutting/shaping). His background goes way beyond jewelry creation, so be sure to check out his bio on the Meetings page.

If anyone would care to bring refreshments to our last meeting, please contact me. It would be nice to have something for our last meeting.

Please note that we are still searching for a treasurer for next year. This should be one year only, as someone has expressed an interest in taking over the position the following year. If you have never held an office in this organization, please note that this is one of the easiest ones. Feel free to contact Mary Williams or myself for further information.

From our VP, Ray Wollschleger: On June 24th the Central Ohio symphony will be performing a free evening concert behind Austin Manor. The opening act will start at 4:00. As part of the day’s festivities local artist are encouraged and invited to exhibit their art prior to the concert. There will be no fee to set up and sell their art. The ground will be open to the public at 3:00.

It’s been a pleasure serving as your president for the last two years. I believe that we had a particularly great season this year with some outstanding speakers. If you have any suggestions for speakers for next year, please contact Lynda Elias or bring your ideas to the meeting on Monday. Lynda will, I’m sure, be putting together a committee sometime this summer.

Hope to see you all this coming Monday.

Kris Hyland Kolb
